The heritage

Many of Mozambique's signature dishes are built around Peri-Peri, the South African pepper discovered by Portuguese sailors. It carries through the menu, from flame-roasted Peri-Peri chicken and fresh seafood to the Durban and Cape Malay curries that name the regions they come from.

Our grilled selections are cooked on an open flame fueled by oak wood — an infusion of smoky character rooted in South African braai. We season our steaks with our own Mozambique Spice Company® Steak Rub, developed specifically for wood-fire cooking. It's why the kitchen is known for Orange County's top-ranked wood-fired steaks, and why the flame stays lit from brunch through the last seating.

Mozambique is a resort-style restaurant with three levels of indoor and outdoor dining, plus a rooftop. Choose the ocean-panorama Veranda, the lush Garden Patio, string-lit Palm Patio, the speakeasy warmth of the Durban Room with its fireplace and piano, or one of our spaces for private events. Upstairs, Ivan'z House is a dedicated live music venue with vintage speaker walls, brass accents, crystal chandeliers, and a state-of-the-art sound system.
